I’m Tony, a Grade 11 student at Bur Oak Secondary School, deeply passionate about computer science. Proficient in programming languages like Python, Java, and C++, I am dedicated to using my skills to introduce younger children to the joys of coding. Through engaging, hands-on experiences, I strive to ignite an early interest in technology and foster the next generation of innovators. My teaching techniques are refined through hands-on experience, notably through collaborations with Ultimate Coders and the Markham Public Libraries. These partnerships have been crucial in enhancing my ability to effectively impart knowledge and inspire a passion for technology. Beyond my technological endeavors, I value literature and the outdoors. I believe in maintaining a balanced lifestyle, drawing inspiration from both the advances of the digital realm and the beauty of the natural world. As I continue my educational journey through high school and into the future, I am eager to expand my horizons, forge new connections, and contribute meaningfully to the dynamic field of technology.

Iris Liu

Hello everyone! I am Iris and I am a student in grade 11 at York Mills Collegiate Institute. I am the founder of Eager Youth Education, a non profit organization focused on helping students and youth through mentorship and education. This year, I also serve as the founder and president of my school's debate club. With a strong background in debate, I've always believed in the power of words to spark change, and I'm passionate in helping students gain their confidence in speaking. Outside of debate, I am also a tutor for international and local students in various subjects like English, French, and math. I speak four languages: English, French, Spanish, and Mandarin. All which has fostered my appreciation for diverse perspectives and roles. Beyond academics, I enjoy weightlifting and light outdoor activities. I‘m a current student at Pierre Elliott Trudeau High School, Class of 2025, with a passion for all things technology. From an early age, I've been captivated by the endless possibilities of computers, leading me to excel in both hardware and software realms. I'm skilled in web design, using platforms like Wix, and programming in languages such as Java, C++, and Python. I have a PCAP badge in Python and I am certified in Velo by Wix. I received these certifications during my Grade 8 summer break, when my passion for coding was born. When I’m not coding or tinkering with computer components, you’ll find me on the badminton court or enjoying a good video game session. Music also plays a significant role in my life, providing the soundtrack to my coding sessions and downtime. I'm always eager to learn more and connect with like-minded peers and professionals. Hello, I am currently in grade 11 attending Our Lady Queen of The World Catholic High School with interests in computer science and robotics. I am ethical in C++. I can speak somewhat fluently in both English and Mandarin. My interest for computer science was shown when i was young and has grown throughout the years inside and outside of school courses. These opportunities have allowed me to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience. Over time, I have also learned the importance of determination when facing technical challenges, as well as the value of working closely with others to achieve common goals. I continue to look forward to opportunities to apply my skills in the future, whether through academic projects or extracurricular activities.

Hello, my main focus is to design and coordinate youth-focused initiatives that promote public speaking, academic confidence, and community impact. Currently enrolled in the IB program at St. Robert Catholic High School, I bring strong organizational and communication skills developed through years of academic leadership and teaching. With over four years of experience at Kumon, I’ve built a solid foundation in mentorship, time management, and student support. My extensive background in competitive debating, as both a participant and instructor, has further sharpened my ability to lead, communicate clearly, and think on my feet. I’ve co-organized major events such as “Debate for a Better Tomorrow”, a charity tournament benefiting SickKids, and “Path to Top Universities”, a strategy seminar supporting students' academic planning. I also serve on the administration team for the York High School Debate Tournament, gaining hands-on experience in event logistics, scheduling, and tournament coordination. Through these roles, I’ve led outreach efforts, managed volunteer teams, and ensured smooth event operations skills that reflect my passion for creating inclusive, high impact experiences that empower students and bring communities together.

Jessica

Math Director

I’m Jessica, and I’m currently a student at Markville Secondary School. With both my parents in software engineering roles, I grew up surrounded by math and science. I’ve spent the last four years teaching all sorts of subjects—chemistry, biology, math, French, you name it! As someone who used to struggle at grasping difficult concepts, I understand how bumpy the road to learning is. As such, I tailor my teaching methods to my students, making their learning about what I can do for them, not what they can gain from me. In my free time, I love reading books and going on long walks, enjoying the crisp autumn air or the bright summer breeze, and you’ll seldom catch me without some sort of savoury treat in hand. Let’s work together to fill the classroom with joy and laughter!

Jeffery Yang

Math Director

I’m Jeffery, and I’m currently a student at Markville Secondary School. As the Math Director, I’m excited to help create a welcoming environment where students can build both their math skills and confidence. Throughout my own experience with math, I’ve learned that difficult concepts often become much easier when you take the time to understand them from a different perspective. I believe that everyone learns differently, and I hope to make math more approachable by encouraging students to ask questions, learn from their mistakes, and develop their own problem solving skills. Outside of school, I enjoy exploring new things and spending time with my friends and family. I’m looking forward to working with everyone and making math a subject that students can enjoy and feel confident in!

Rita Chen

Accounting Director

Hello everyone, a new school year, a new start. My name is Rita, and I’m a Grade 12 student at Our Lady Queen of the World. I have joined the Business SHSM and have just finished my summer co-op at Beaver Accounting Service as an accounting assistant. At the Canada Benson Academy, I have the opportunity to apply my accounting skills in a real-world setting. I help with bookkeeping by recording and organizing financial transactions, checking account balances, and making sure the records are accurate and up to date. For example, I record expenses such as purchases of products and supplies, as well as increases in income, such as tutoring fees. This experience allows me to better understand how businesses manage their finances and how important accuracy and organization are in accounting.

Tina Lin

Custom Services Director

I am Tina Lin, and as of now I attend Our Lady Queen of The World Catholic Academy in Ontario Canada. I work as the Customer Service Director at Eager Youth Education with the responsibility of assisting teachers to help kids improve at and sharpen their skills in learning whether it would be in mathematics or english. As a student who was once in the ESL program in elementary school, I understand the importance of forming a solid foundation in languages and communication in order to appropriately convey messages and form connections with a multitude of different people which benefits students in both professional and personal settings. My specialties do not only stop at verbal communications, however, as I also engage in visual art outside of school and find that some students learn better through visual representations of familiar subjects such as number blocks or simple doodles rather than building their knowledge only off unfamiliar words.

Hello everyone! My name is Fangrou He, and I’m a Grade 11 student at Don Mills Collegiate Institute. I teach English reading classes at Eager Youth Education, where I help students prepare for the IELTS test. My favorite subjects in school are Computer Science and Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology, and Sociology—I enjoy exploring both the technical and human sides of learning. In my free time, I love reading books and playing badminton, which help me relax and stay active. Hello everyone, I’m Maggie Meng. I’m currently a Grade 12 student at Unionville High School in Ontario, Canada. I’m interested in business and enjoy communicating and working with others. At Eager Youth Education, I am part of the Business Development Department. Our goal is to build partnerships with businesses, organizations, and individuals who share our values. We also work to support fundraising and generate financial resources for our nonprofit programs. Through our work, we hope to provide more educational opportunities, resources, and a better learning environment for children in our community. Being part of this department also allows me to develop my communication, teamwork, and business skills while contributing to a meaningful goal.
